You will have a great time at Myrtle Beach! I am taking my family there very soon as well. There’s so much to do there it’s overwhelming. I have a lot of favorites. We really enjoyed the Big Daddy’s restraunt at the 2nd avenue pier. It’s small but right on the ocean and the food was good and casual. Holiday Sands South is a great place to stay. We like to go here because the price is unbeatable (make sure you click on discounts and specials). The condos are only a year old and come complete with a full kitchen including dishwasher and a washer and dryer. They have pools and a lazy river. Plus an onsight restraunt. The complete kitchen can save a TON on $. We usually eat lunch in our condo and out for dinner. That way we don’t have to leave the beach for long!

There’s so many things we like to do there I don’t know where to begin. No special secrets though. Barefoot Landing is fun so is Broadway at the Beach. The Family Kingdom amusement park is great for kids. Not really thrill ride but fun and decent priced. Of course they have the new Hard Rock Park. It’s supposed to be awesome and judging by the construction going on last year it looks pretty cool. We like to hit the outlet malls. There’s the Nascar Cafe if you’re into Nascar. They have good food and go carts. Chicagos pizza is delicious! Huntington Beach State Park is supposed to have a neat nature reserve area. We haven’t been there yet but are hoping to this trip. Myrtle Beach State park is a neat place too. We camped there several years ago. A great inexpensive way to go.

You can go to barefootlanding.com and get a preferred card mailed to you and get lots of discounts on restraunts and shopping. If you’re leaving too soon to get the card you can get one there. However they mail them FAST. I ordered one last Friday and already have it.

You can go to the Tanger Outlet website and get coupons for Myrtle Beach as well as going to broadway at the beach website and get coupons for things there. You can also go to the family kingdom website and print off coupons for there.

You can go to and get reviews on most places in Myrtle Beach. Feel free to email me to ask questions. We’ve been there about 5 times in the last ten years. It’s by far our favorite vacation spot!

    Have a GREAT trip!

They usually do fire works at Broadway the Beach one night a week. Find out when that is. Go and get a seat at Johnny Rockets on the deck right before the fireworks. Best seat in the house & great milkshakes. Oh yeah- I like Crabby Mike’s seafood, too.

Living in Myrtle Beach, and playing host to family and friends, I have been tasked many times to come up with good activities on a tight budget. With this experience I give the following advice.
1)When making reservations or buying tickets ask for any discounts or deals. Many of these will be unadvertised and change regularly.
2)Always let the ticket seller know if you are active or retired military, a senior citizen, a local resident, a AAA member, a teacher, etc.
3)If you plan to do an activity multiple times ask about a season pass. For ex: several of the area miniature golf courses are owned by the same company. If you play 10 rounds on these courses over your stay a season pass will save you $3.00 per round.
4)Residents can get a state park vehicle pass at the local library for $30.00. This is good for one year from the purchase date for unlimited entry to all of the South Carolina State Parks.
5)There are 4 different coupon books for attractions throughout the area. These are free and available at the tourist info centers and free stands outside many area stores.

The Myrtle Beach Herald weekly newspaper is running a list of free activities and events throughout the summer. “Free Fun” is updated and changes each week.
