Why do people take their children to Casino Resorts for a “family” vacation? And do you think this is ok?

I work for a construction company that is currently adding onto a casino. I overheard some woman in the bathroom complaining yesterday that there were no activities for children. She said “I guess they don’t want children here.” Of course they don’t! They want you to gamble, and the best way to gamble is without distraction. In my opinion, casino resorts are not family vacations. I think it is selfish of parents to take their children where there is not much for them to do and call it a family vacation. If the parents want to gamble, they should do it sometime when they have a babysitter. Children deserve Disney World, camping, and other fun things like that. NOT casinos!

It depends some of them do have things for children to do. I think parents that don’t do their research definitely have a problem

We are taking our nieces to a high desert casino resort this weekend. They offer 2 pools one w/slide, Horseback riding, bike rentals, hiking, and yes gambling. We are not going for the casino, but to spend time with our families. That is what life is all about “YOUR FAMILY”

As a child my family used to go to Las Vegas and Reno for vacations. We always stayed at one of the big casino hotels and had a blast. Its fun to stay in a themed hotel, and usually there is something for kids to do: all ages shows, arcades, things like that. My parents never gambled while we were there, so I’m sure we weren’t exactly the clinetele they were looking for, but they got our money so they never complained.

Depends on the casino. Some have pretty good shows and activities for kids. Or are near places that are family friendly so you can mix it up. And I always have more fun playing in the kid’s arcade then up at the casino anyway.

Got something to say?
