libra x mom asked:
my mom is getting married in the end of may. a few family members and i are looking to pitch in and buy some sort of a vacation package for them since they don’t really need any household items. we are thinking maybe some kind of bed and breakfast or beach type vacation. our budget will probably be around $500 (or less).

Beautiful islands are the Portuguese Islands of Azores and Madeira in the Atlantic.. Contact the Tourism Office at the Portuguese Embassy in Washingotn..
Try finding a nice B&B near New Hope, PA / Lambertville, NJ. It’s a cute area on the Delaware River in Bucks County with shops, restaurants, wineries, etc. In the warm months, you can rent bicycles and ride around through town and along the Delaware River. B&Bs can even arrange for balloon rides in NJ. If your mom wants some city life, Philadelphia is less than an hour away.
Might be a bit expensive, but check this place out:
Really romantic!! If that’s too expensive, there are loads of nice B&Bs on the Bucks County website.
A little further afield, but you could also try Assateague Island in Maryland. It has nice beaches, wild horses, and parkland galore. We stayed at this place and liked it. You can also borrow bicycles and ride around there. Ocean City, MD is about an hour north, and Virginia Beach, VA is a bit over an hour south, so there are more touristy destinations within reach as well.
Last idea — you could try Mohonk Resort in NY State. It’s very picturesque and you can arrange for all inclusive, with activities galore. Might be a bit pricey though.
Congratulations to them!!
