Bush has nearly destroyed America’s $1.3 trillion travel and tourism industry in his past 7 years of?

Gary E asked:

mismanagement, and the greater economy is suffering as a result. Bush’s TSA gleefully harasses everyone visiting America in his misguided “war on terra” to the point that no one wants to vacation here anymore. Furthermore, the average tourist from overseas has to put up with hostile glances from the typical Fox News viewers and accusations of “looking French” as they walk America’s shopping malls and sight-seeing places.

How did the tourism industry come to suffer so much from neocon rule? Did someone say to bush that he must declare war on “terrists” and bush misheard it as “war on tourists”?

Gary, I was just listening yesterday to NPR. The subject was foreign tourism. The facts are that foreign tourism in the US is way up due to the falling value of the dollar. It is in a boom stage. Check your facts next time.

Get a life, GW did not destroy anything.

Take a look at your hero the clintons and what they are doing because she is getting a beating she so very deserves.

I think tourism suffered because of multiple situations and not just Bush’s mistakes. Americans seems to have this quality about them that the only people that matter are themselves and no one else. This gives off a certain hostility aura that tourists pick up and now are trying to avoid. While this is by no means a generalization, Americans’ “only I matter” mentality is perceived by others as arrogant. That’s why many people frown at things concerning the US because we are perceived as such an arrogant people.

    Thank God for President Bush…..

You need to blame the terrorists and not your President… He has been saving all Americans, even you….

If you will move to France and leave the USA, I will help raise money to move you there… just let me know..

The recent decline in foreign tourists has cost our economy tens of billions of dollars, hundreds of thousands of jobs and untold revenue in taxes.

    credible sources?

If anything destroyed tourism it was the 9/11 attacks and the shoebomber.

Bush has a lot of faults, but we don’t need to dig deep and come up with fool’s gold .

Bush has done everything he can to destroy this country, and the dems went right along with it.

That is funny. I suppose that airliners flying into buildings is an attraction? The cost of fuel might be a better reason than Bush. Mexico seems to be the biggest travel bureau, but that is off topic.

The Europeans love coming here because the dollar is so WEAK. They are making a killing on there holidays. I don’t see why any Europeans wouldn’t come here to buy stuff at half price.

    You’re full of crap.

The airline industry was struggling in the 90s. Maybe you should research a company called “Jet Blue”?

The world’s tourists are coming to the USA for bargins. However they are not too impressed with the general deterioration of America’s social and physical infrastructure especially when in their own countries they see massive investments in all areas. Americans used to go to poor countries because those countries were quaint. Now they come here because it’s cheap.

How does Bush have anything to do with tourism? This is probably the dumbest statement i have heard in a long time.
I haven’t seen the military harassing tourists on the streets. have you? if you have please share what happened and give some sort of proof.
and would you feel better if we just allowed everyone to hop on a plane without checking into them? sure, there have been some incidents when people have been treated unfairly, but people aren’t perfect. i would rather have a couple people stopped and treated unfairly every once in a while than have an entire plane blown up and everyone killed.

There is a new class of tourists interested in pleasuring themselves with vices Bush does not condone . That thousands of tourists have returned home only to have been robbed by the State on a visit to America looking to enjoy sex ,drugs , and rock-n-roll . Imprisoned here only to need funds from relatives to secure their freedom . Why return or even suggest that others should go to a police State like America . Plenty of places to relax and enjoy without the worry of being arrested , detained , or cavity searched exist around the world . .

Got something to say?
