    I’ve heard that it’s best to purchase health insurance from a licensed broker (like for cars or houses) or through your bank. If you purchase it through a travel company, it is apparently much more expensive that from your broker or your bank.

    If you booked the trip through a travel agent you should talk to your agent about what options are availabe. For some with health insurance in the US they are covered when they live the US. But I would call a travel agency and ask.

    Honey, most of the rest of the world has better health coverage, even for foreigners, then the US.

    Figure out what countries you will be going to and then find out their policy for handling medical emergencies before paying for coverage if you don’t need it.

    Whatever happens, you will most likely spend less paying for treatment there then you would paying for “What If” Coverage from an American Company.

    All the companies on the site below are reputable and most do not require that you have a primary health insurance provider.
