Hi, provided your diabetes is controlled by medication there is no need to declare it on travel insurance so no special policy is required

    under 50? £43.90
    50-64 £62.00
    65-79 £180.80
child under 18 with an adult £25.85

this is with fortis insurance these are the rates i give out at work, there is a screening line to go through, you should get these rates from a local insurance broker

unless you have spent time in hospital over the past year you shouldnt need to declare it to most companys

You can get travel insurance through the charity Diabetes UK.

Most Travel Insurance plans don’t cover pre-existing conditions. However, you may check the free online Travel Insurance quote engine

Take a look at TravelEx, they’re one of the better outfits out there. I get my quotes from here –>

    Best of luck.

I have a bad back and I can’t get insurance to cover it which is stupid since 99.9% of the time nothing goes wrong and even if it did I would not claim unless I was unable to walk.

If you don’t get insurance make sure you have a nice credit card with an unlimited amount of cash attached to it. Hospitals in the USA are VERY expensive and I would hate to see someone have to pay off a HUGE bill for health care from the USA.

What I think the UK/USA needs is some type of agreement like we have with the EU.

Got something to say?
