you need to look at the policy because they will soon opt out of a claim if he is only covered travelling with you——ring them up and ask them you are safe then

You’d need to ring them to find out. All insurance companies are different, and it’s not worth risking it.
You should check your policy agreement but most of the like are sold as family including the child as a free cover…so…i wouldnt have thought that the child is covered unless with the main policy holder at the time
