I am going to the Outer Banks on the week of July 4th, Emerald Isle to be specific. My entire cosort of relatives is all going- I’d say at least 13 people under one roof, including myself. However we compensate for it- my great uncle who is considered the head of the family owns a HUGE rental beach house with seven bedrooms so we can all fit.

I am worried about having so many ppl in the house. The last time that we went, as soon as we got there EVERYONE immediately made a beeline for the nicer bedrooms…and there was inevitably a huge power battle ensuing which resulted in them drawing names from a hat. As usual, my uncle stayed the hell out of it at all costs and I followed suit.

What can I do to prevent family drama from happening again? I try to conveniently “disappear” whenever it starts as I am the Benvolio in our group (there is nothing that a long walk on the beach can’t fix) but is there anything I can say to settle everyone down, or at least abandon ship if it fails?
